What is aluminum foil packaging and why use it?

Aluminum foil packaging uses a thin aluminum layer as the barrier core of a flexible laminate. It fully blocks light, oxygen and moisture, so flavors, oils and active ingredients stay stable far longer than with plastic-alone pouches. Gerun Pack supplies foil stand-up pouches, 3-side seal pouches, 8-side seal bags, roll stock and lidding film for food, coffee, pet food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical brands.

What types of foil pouches do you manufacture?

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Standard MOQ is 10,000 pieces per design, depending on bag size and printing method. Lower quantities are possible for plain (unprinted) roll stock or stock-size zip-lock bags. Tell us your target volume and we will quote the most economical option.

What is the typical lead time for custom orders?

Custom printed foil pouches usually take 15–25 days after artwork approval: 7–10 days for cylinder/gravure plate making and 8–15 days for production and QC. Retort and lidding film jobs may need a few extra days for barrier validation. Urgent schedules can be discussed case by case.

Can you print custom designs and logos on the pouches?

Yes. We offer up to 10-color gravure printing plus matte/gloss finish, spot UV, foil stamping and laser scoring. Send your AI/PDF artwork and we return a digital proof and a physical sample for sign-off before mass production.

Are your materials food-grade and compliant with FDA / EU rules?

Our food-contact films and inks are validated by FDA-accredited laboratory test reports for the intended use. We supply compliance documentation (heavy-metals, migration) on request and tailor the structure to your product—e.g. food, coffee, pharmaceutical or cosmetic applications.

What barrier properties do foil pouches provide?

An aluminum layer gives near-zero oxygen transmission rate (OTR) and water-vapor transmission rate (WVTR), plus 100% light block-out. That protects oils, coffee aromatics, pet-food fats and pharmaceutical actives from rancidity, oxidation and UV damage. For high-moisture or retort use we add nylon or PET layers—see nylon-laminate pouches and retort pouches.

Do you offer recyclable or sustainable options?

We provide mono-material (PE-based) high-barrier structures and reduced-foil laminates for brands with recyclability goals, alongside our classic foil laminates for maximum shelf life. We will help you balance barrier performance, shelf life and end-of-life with the right structure.

Can I get free samples before ordering?

Yes. We send plain or printed stock samples of stand-up, 3-side seal and zip-lock pouches so you can check material, print and fit. Request a sample via the contact page.

How do I choose the right pouch for my product?

Match the format to the product and channel: coffee and snacks → coffee / food pouches with one-way degassing valves; pet food → large pet-food bags with zip; liquids/sauces → retort pouches; filling lines → lidding film or roll stock. Our engineers recommend a structure from your fill weight, shelf life and filling method.

What certifications do you hold?

Gerun Pack runs an ISO 9001 quality system, and our food-contact materials are validated by FDA-accredited laboratory test reports. Certificates and test reports are available under NDA for pharmaceutical and industrial customers.
